ARCHITECTURE AS POETRY. BUILT FOR LIFE
I’m Laureen C. Vivian — architect, designer, and principal of LVC Architectural Design & Interiors.
For more than 30 years, my work has explored architecture at both the macro and micro level — from the first sketch, concept, and relationship to site, through materiality, interiors, detailing, and the finished experience of a space.
My background extends beyond architecture into fine art and German literature, disciplines that continue to influence the way I think about the purpose and meaning of built space. Architecture is not simply shelter or an arrangement of rooms. At its best, it shapes how we feel, how we gather, how we move through the world, and how we experience everyday life.
My work spans residential architecture, ADUs, multi-family residences, historic preservation, interiors, cultural spaces, hospitality, and landscape design across a wide range of architectural styles and budgets.
Whether reimagining an existing residence or beginning with an entirely new idea, I approach every project as an opportunity to create something purposeful, beautiful, deeply considered, and enduring.
HOW WE WORK
An integrative journey from concept to completion.
01
DISCOVERY
We begin by understanding you — your needs, aspirations, lifestyle, property, and the possibilities of the site.
02
CONCEPT
Sketching the essence of possibility through form, proportion, space, context, and experience.
03
DESIGN DEVELOPMENT
Developing plans, materials, functionality, architectural character, and the details that bring the concept into focus.
04
INTERIORS
Considering material, texture, light, furnishings, movement, and atmosphere as part of one cohesive architectural vision.
05
DETAILING
Resolving the small decisions that give a project clarity, character, craftsmanship, and precision.
06
EXECUTION
Working collaboratively toward a finished environment that remains true to the original idea.
